The nursery is getting close to being done. I wanted it done before my family baby shower Tuesday night but that didn't happen. We got the painting done though and are very happy with the results! It took a lot of time but was worth it for a unique room. Next plans are sewing curtains out of crib sheets, adding chair rail/moulding above the solid pink, and hanging pics. Once we decide on a name, we will use ribbon to hang wooden letters above the crib.

SOOOOO much taping! I colored my plans and made measurements ahead of time. You can see my blueprint hanging up in a couple of the pics. If anyone plans on doing stripes I have some good tips. Unfortunately I forgot to use all the tips until I did the chocolate stripes. My pink bled a little but that will be a pretty easy fix. More important was the chocolate which didn't bleed at all. I was so impressed with myself!
As I mentioned above, my family baby shower was Tuesday night. We planned it early so my dads siblings from out of town could attend. It was a lot of fun! We got a lot of great presents. The theme was baby's firsts. (first bath, first holidays, first walk, etc.) My sister, cousin, and mom did a great job planning it. Thanks so much for everything!!!!
To add to a night of firsts, it was the first night Matthew and I have been apart since we got married a little over three years ago!! I thought I could be tough and would be fine sleeping at home alone but I admit I broke down and cried. Pregnancy hormones made it worse I think. I'm glad he was only gone for one night. It was soo weird falling asleep and waking up all alont. Even though I was exhauseted, I was up until at least 11:30 or 12. He went camping with his brother, their friend, and our dogs to get away during the shower. They had a lot of fun but he admitted it was hard on him too! It was fun to see him get excited the next day about all the baby stuff. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. She'll be here before we know it!

WOW!! You've been working hard! I love the paint job! I never knew you were so talented!!
That baby's room is AWESOME! I won't tell Ben yet that I want him to do that for our next one. He'd probably jump off a bridge with how much he hates painting! Very cute...I'm pretty jealous actually.
