Finally an Update!

I went to the doctor a few days ago. I'm supposed to have weekly checks now. My schedule is a little crazy though so I went a little longer. To make a long story short, my original appt was at 9 but I didn't see the dr until about 10:30. It was her day off at the office and a few things came up at the hospital to delay her. I was a little frustrated so she did an ultrasound just for fun. Everything looks good. We didn't get any profile pics because the babies head is too far down and she had her hand covering her face. We saw her lips and nose. She kept moving her lips like she was talking. It was cute. Ultrasound measurements say she's about 5 lbs 9 oz. New predicted delivery weight of about 7 lbs 9 oz. I was happy. Original predicted weight was at least 8 lbs. Hopefully the lower weight is more accurate. I've gained about 20 lbs so far but 0 since my previous appt. I think it's from all the heat. We went camping and I sweat off all the weight! I guess it's time for more milkshakes. My mom says it means the baby will come soon. According to an old wives tale, you lose weight just before delivery. We shall see. Well, on to the good part of blogging--pictures!

Matthew says this first picture is a little scary. I hesitated putting it on here but I can't change it so here it is--A picture of my crazy pregnant belly. Did anyone else have a belly shaped like this? It doesn't look normal. My ribs haven't moved at all. The belly is just growing around them. My cousin said she used to get kicked under her ribs all the time. I get a foot on the outside of my ribs and it feels like she is tearing my flesh away from my rib cage. It can be quite painful at times. It doesn't look as weird when I stand up. I was bored one day while sitting on the couch and decided to take a picture. I didn't even realize it looked like this! I'm starting to get a line. Hopefully it will stay nice and faint! My belly button is opening up too. So weird!

The next few pics are more work on the nursery. We finally bought chair rail molding and put it up in the nursery. Matthew likes to help because he gets to use cool "toys."

Here he is using the chop saw.
Then he got to use the brad nailer.
Here is the finished main wall. It doesn't look that much different in pics but the room does look a lot better now. The bottom pink color looks like it clashes in this pic but when you see the room in real light it looks better. Next projects: buy material and sew curtains, finalize a name to put on wall opposite stripes, and buy picture frames to put on striped wall. These will be filled with newborn pics. The photographer from our wedding said he would take newborn pics for free (included with our wedding package)! He's so nice. He has been taking pics of our family for years. I think he started with my cousin's graduation pics a few years before I graduated.

A few days ago my sister showed up at my house with bags full of presents. It was a 30 day count down to my due date. What a great idea! Each day we get to open a present to help the time pass this last month. I set them all out on the extra bed in the nursery. She labeled the first three presents in case I went into labor early to make sure I had them opened. We started a little early. She thinks she gave us extra presents.
Day 1: a night gown and a robe to take to have at the hospital.

Day 2: A new pair of slippers. They are very comfortable! I wore them around the house the day I opened them then realized I should probably put them in my hospital bag. (I am slowly getting it ready)

Day 3: Two newborn outfits. Look at the feet on the ladybug outfit. The antennas actually stick up. Soooo cute!

Day 4: A present for Matthew-A neat book about special things that fathers do for their kids.We are getting so excited for the arrival of our little girl and can hardly wait to see her. Only a few more weeks!

IT HURTS LIKE HECK!!! the worst thing ever.. it is horible, but totally worth it. I would do it again any time. Klara is such a blessing and a special angel to hold in my arms. You will love your little one.

You need to add that the presents was an idea from someone else. I wasn't nearly that clever. I just loved the idea! The belly pic is pretty wierd, but oh well, it's only a few more days, oh, I mean weeks! I am getting so excited to see her too! You might have to tear me away :}

What a great idea Kimmy!! You will definitely have that baby spoiled. Beth your tummy looks great. Just means you will still have a waist line after she comes. Can't wait. Love, Aunt Joy

Brigetta's belly looked that way when she was prego with Porter. Joy's right... you'll be one of the lucky ones with a waist line. The room looks so cute! I can't wait to see it in person. And what a cute idea for a countdown! Keep us posted.

Yesss!!! I have finally found someone who knows how to do molding who could come teach my hubby! Matthew, do you happen to know how to do crown molding though? That's the type I hear is harder. ;)

Anyway, back to baby--Elizabeth, so sorry I couldn't make it to your shower. Stinkin' Salt Lake trip with the youth! Just kidding, it was a wonderful experience to be there. I just missed out on helping you celebrate. Hope things are coming together nicely.
Oh and who cares about having a deformed prego belly? You should be grateful your belly button has managed to at least stay in place!! And what's with you not having any stretch marks? Ugh--what I would give...
